KELLY MINE AND TOWN
IN 1900 NEEDLESS TO SAY THE KELLY MINE WAS THE BIGGEST EMPLOYER, MINERS CAME AND STAYED TILL THERE STAKE WAS UP TO SUPPORT FOR A GOOD PERIOD OF TIME.
KELLY HAD THE AMINITIES OF MOST WESTERN TOWNS, GENERAL STORE. ROOMING HOUSE, CAFE, AND OF COURSE A BAR.
SOME OF THE TOWN FOLK HAD TO WALK TO WORK UP HILL AND DOWN HILL BOTH DIRECTIONS TO GET THE MINE, LIVING ON THE SIDE OF A HILL COULD BE TOUGH.
